Getting Care Before Receiving Your Membership ID Card

Make sure that the doctor you intend to see is within the network of your health plan. If, by chance, you visit the provider before obtaining your membership ID card, you may be asked to sign an agreement indicating your commitment to covering the service expenses if you are unable to provide proof of health insurance.

Subsequently, the provider might send you a bill for the services provided. However, by the time you receive the bill or claim from your provider, you will likely have already been registered in your health insurance company’s system. Once you have received your membership ID card, you can easily contact your provider, provide them with your membership ID card number, and request that the bill be resubmitted directly to your health insurance company.
